Description:
The Enfield No. 5 Mk I Jungle Carbine is a bolt-action rifle chambered in .303 British with an 18.5-inch barrel. It features the compact configuration developed for post–World War II service use, incorporating the lightened receiver and shortened barrel typical of the No. 5 pattern. The rifle has a blued finish and is fitted with a smooth wood pistol-grip stock, matching handguard, and the original metal buttplate. The receiver is marked with a 9/46 production date.
Standard military sights are present, including the adjustable rear peep sight designed for rapid elevation adjustment. The bore is described as excellent, and the action is strong. Serial number X4430 is present, with the receiver and bolt matching while the magazine does not. This rifle is used and retains the mechanical configuration characteristic of the No. 5 Mk I variant.
Included features consist of the fixed front sight assembly, full-length top handguard, and metal hardware consistent with the factory configuration. The rifle qualifies as Curio & Relic (C&R) eligible based on its 1946 manufacture date. No additional accessories or packaging are listed.
