Description:
The Loewe Argentino 1891 with a 22" barrel is a sporterized version of the original military rifle. Standard military configuration for the Mauser Modelo Argentino 1891 was the full-length infantry rifle with a 29.13" barrel. This rifle was part of a batch of 200 rifles that were used by the University Battalion in the Argentine capital. You can clearly see the University stamp on the top of the receiver. The sporterization done includes changing out the original stock for a Monte Carlo version with a pistol grip. The barrel has also been cut down and the receiver drilled for a scope. The serial number on both the receiver and the magazine floor plate are matching. There is a chip missing on the cheek rest of the stock 7.65x53mm Mauser
