Description:
"Serial number 2215. Made in 1874. 45 LC caliber with a 5.5" barrel. This gun is in very good condition. The barrel is mostly a light brown patina with original blue in protected areas. THe case colors are very good with over 50% of the original case colors. The grips have been lightly cleaned and the bottom has been refinished. THe cartouche on the right hand side remains sharp. The action is excellent. he Colt Artillery models were modified Colt cavalries that were disassembled and refurbished and then reassembled making no attempt to put the guns back with matching serial numbers. This was done during the Spanish American war when the newly adopted Colt double action guns in 38 Colt failed to have the knock down power needed.
