The receiver heel clearly displays the serial number 3745630 alongside the sharp ‚U.S. RIFLE / CAL .30 M1 / SPRINGFIELD / ARMORY‚ stamping, placing its manufacture firmly at the culmination of the war in Europe. Because its major components perfectly match the May 1945 production timeframe, this rifle stands out as an outstanding, unmolested piece of history that likely escaped the heavy post-war rebuilding process common to most military firearms.
