Winchester Model 1895 Imperial Russian Military Contract lever action rifle. Overall good condition with expected wear from a rifle of this age. Serial #294952 dated to 1916. The Winchester Model 1895 "Russian Contract" is a unique variant of John Browning's lever-action rifle. Facing severe arms shortages in World War I, the Imperial Russian Army ordered about 300,000 of these rifles—making it the largest military contract ever placed for a lever-action firearm 7.62mm
