This is a handsome rifle that has a Springfield Armory Inc. marked receiver that retains 97-98% of the original dark phosphate finish that has silvered very lightly along a few of the high and exposed edges and projections. Some further silvering is present on the bearing surfaces of the bolt and op-rod raceway, as well as a mostly dull gray patina on the bolt release thumb-piece on the left side. The subsidiary parts are all Beretta-marked: integral grenade launcher, flip-up grenade sight, folding bipod base, bolt release, folding winter trigger, and hard rubber buttpad. The walnut handguard and stock are in fine shape with only a few very minor handling marks and small blemishes in the otherwise excellent oil finish, and a complete segmented cleaning rod with brush and jag is present in the stock compartment. An OD M1 canvas ling is fitted. These Springfield BM59s were imported in very small numbers, and are thus very desirable and collectible today. This example is in excellent, little-used condition and would make a splendid addition to any collection. FFL; SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
