Ithaca Grade 5 NID Double Barrel Trap Shotgun – Factory Engraved & Silver Inlaid
For sale is a rare and beautiful Ithaca Grade 5 Double Barrel Trap Shotgun, built on the desirable NID — New Ithaca Double — action. Ithaca produced only 155 Grade 5 guns, making this a highly collectible and uncommon example.
The NID action was produced from 1926 to 1948 and was Ithaca’s stronger double-gun design, built for modern smokeless powder ammunition.
This shotgun features a beautifully figured original stock with a 14 1/2" length of pull, giving it excellent trap-gun dimensions. The 32" barrels are choked Improved Modified and Full, a classic and highly desirable setup for trap shooting. Chambers are 2 3/4".
The barrels have been fitted with a ventilated rib, along with white front and mid bead sights, and the gun is equipped with ejectors.
The receiver displays the classic Grade 5 factory engraving, featuring floral scrollwork surrounding game bird scenes on both sides of the action, with a patriotic eagle engraved on the underside. The receiver is also silver inlaid, adding to the gun’s presentation and collector appeal. It is fitted with a single trigger.
The gun comes with two butt pads: one original Hawkins pad and one Kick-Eez pad for added shooting comfort.
The stock and barrels have been professionally refinished by a gunsmith within the Guild network, preserving the gun’s classic look while making it a very attractive and usable trap shotgun. (Not even a scratch on the gun)
