A rare opportunity to own one of the finest sporting shotguns ever produced in the former Soviet Union. The Vostok MU6 was a best-quality over and under built in limited numbers and imported into the United States only briefly during the 1970s. With Russian firearms now prohibited from importation into the U.S., these shotguns have become increasingly difficult to find.
This example remains in very lightly used condition and showcases the innovative engineering that made the MU6 famous among competitive shooters. It features a unique trigger plate action utilizing a single tuning fork-shaped mainspring to power both locks. Equally distinctive is its unconventional locking system, which eliminates the traditional hinge pin, creating an exceptionally strong action that is virtually immune to shooting loose or going off face, even after extensive use.
The MU6 earned an outstanding reputation in international competition and was used by Yevgeni Petrov, the Soviet Olympic Gold Medalist, a testament to the design's durability and performance.
