Description:
#14597, Gary Goudy Stocked 300 H&H Magnum Mauser Single Bridge Action, John Bolliger at the Mountain Riflery installed a 25" Krieger Match Grade barrel, Barrel band swivel, Band front ramp with a spring loaded locking hood, Barrel recoil lug, Bolliger quick detachable lever bases & rings, Swarovski 4-12 x 50 with a duplex reticle, Bolliger rust blue; Herman Waldron installed a Timney trigger and installed the wing safety, Gary Goudy custom stock in a pure American Classic style with a very nice piece of French Walnut, Straddle hinged floorplate with a center bow release, Belly magazine, Jerry Fisher steel grip cap, 2 screw Jerry Fisher rear sling eye, Ebony forend tip, Cross bolt with an ebony cover, Shadow line cheekpiece, Wrap around point pattern checkering with a neat carved border, 8 lbs. 12 oz. and 9 lbs. 14 oz. with the Swarovski, 14" LOP over a leather pad, This is what great American Custom rifles stand for. This rifle remains almost as new with a new bore and the balance of the gun is 98%. Mr. Waldron is a superb metalsmith and his work never is left with apologies. Mr. Goudy is one of the best stockers and certainly is at the top of the class of American Classic Style bolt rifles. Mr. Bolliger can lay his talents on both metal and wood, he knows the game well and he is a hunter that applies the field to the gun. The total sum of this fine rifle started life in 1906, most likely as a 400/350 Rigby, by Mauser as a Magnum Square Bridge with their stepped receiver ring as #14597. Magnum Mauser #14243 & #14607 were both 400/350 Rigby's. Mauser #14396 was also a Rigby in 350. In 1992 it came all together as a Goudy - Bolliger & Waldron Classic American Sporting Rifle.
