Description:
A very handsome flintlock pistol made in Belgium ( see the "ELG" proof mark on the left side of the barrel opposite the lock) . The octogon barrrel is 7" long and the overall length of the gun is 12". There is straight line rifling and the heavy ramrod looks original. The 0ctogon barrel has a front sight and appears to have been unfinished (left in the "white" or steel color). The trigger guard , butt cap and barrel tang show some nice engraving. There are decorative metal pieces on the left side of the walnut barrel. which are blued. The handgrip is nicely checkered and the buttcap flairs out and is decorated at the bottom. The wood is in very good condition with no splits, or missing pieces. The lock action is strong. There is no makers name on the lock.There are traces of blueing on most small metal. parts.
A good looking flintlock that would make a worthy addition to anyones collection and one that should continue to appreciate in value.
