Description:
A Waters Model 1836 Flintlock pistol dated 1837 in FINE condition. The name and date are clear on the lock with a "birdhead" type  mark (proof mark?) above the name.The left side of the bright round barrel is marked: "U.S., JH, P, and lower down an H". There are two nicely visible cartouches on the left side of the stock. There is an "L" on the metal on the left side opposite the hammer, and  an "L" and an "H" just forward of the trigger. 20,000 of these were made between 1837 and 1843. The lock and barrel are in excellent condition . This pistol is about as clean as you can find. It is 178 years old. The action is strong and the hammer holds on full and half cock.
