Francotte Bte, a Liege: A Francotte 470 Nitro Express Double Rifle Made in 1927, This Pre-War Quality Boxlock comes with 26" Extractor Chopper lump barrels, Rib extension crossbolt that is hidden, 1/4 rib with 1 standing & 2 folding rear sights, Fold up night sight, Bushed strikers, Double triggers, It has 2 retainer screws on key screws, Anson forend release, 14 1/2" LOP over a 1 1/2" leather pad, Proper 470 weight of 10 lbs. 15 oz., The wood is as solid as it was 89 years ago, Sling eyes, Shadowline cheekpiece, Steel trapdoor grip cap, It has 55% coverage of period scroll engraving, It retains 50% original case colors with the balance in a nice patina, It retains 80% original barrel blue, The stock finish is original and it is 86-88%, The checkering is at 94%, I don't know where it has been but the bores are almost as new, It is smack on the face and remains as tight as new. This piece has proven accuracy with proper handloads. This piece is very nice quality Belgium from the Golden Era of gunmaking by the great firm of Francotte. This gun has serious hunting/shooting written all over it and would dress up game fields all over Africa and anywhere in the U. S.
