FIREARMS INTERNATIONAL BOLT ACTION RIFLE ... 270 caliber ... 23" barrel ... 42 5/8" overall ... weight 8 lbs 2 oz ... LOP 13 1/8" over fully checkered metal buttplate ... receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mount ... trigger pull is set to 3 lbs 0 oz ... high polished bolt handle has a single checkered panel ... sling swivel studs...controlled feed.
The top of the receiver ring has the "F.I." logo engraved and the left wall has the address, "Firearms International Washington, D.C.". The floor plate has been beautifully engraved with large leaf floral scroll surrounding a deep relief forest scene featuring a silver inlaid running stag. It is exceptional engraving work, but the artist did not leave their signature. Dark colored American walnut with a high contrast flame pattern grain is used for the stock. There is a swept cheekpiece, pistol grip and a rounded ebony forend tip which are well done but the custom checkering work steals the show. Both the front and rear grip surfaces are covered with free-form diamonds, ribbons and swirling splashes of perfectly cut 32LPI checkering. (Please see photos). This gun is excellent overall with some minor finish thinning around the trigger guard. The stock is near perfect. The bore is bright & shiny and the action is crisp with a very sweet trigger pull.
