#17753, John Rigby & Co. 43 Sackville St. London, W., Late St. James Street: A Boxlock Ejector Double Rifle in 350 Rigby Magnum (350 #2) Nitro Express Made in 1914 on the great Webley long bar action, 26" Ejector Chopper Lump barrels with rib extension dolls head with third bite, 1/4 rib, 1 standing & 2 folding rear sights, Bushed strikers, Double triggers, Proved at 51 1/2 cordite with a 225 grain 35 caliber bullet, Very nice wood with good color and contrast, Lever release forend, No cheekpiece, Steel grip cap, 14 13/16" LOP over a checkered steel buttplate, 9 lbs. 4 oz., Border engraved, 70% barrel blue remains, 15% original case colors, The stock and forend appears to be totally original and at 80% with scattered handling marks only, The checkering at 60%. All that said, the very good news is the bores as both remain excellent. The barrels are smack on the face with nice bite remaining. It has 4 screw holes in the 1/4 rib that we can fill but we have the scope base and rings that was installed on the rib. This is a neat cartridge in a 35 caliber with a lot of cases available that has all the same game performance of a 35 Whelen. It is from a great era when Rigby's were the real thing on the finest action body used on boxlock double rifles.
