The barrels are engraved "The Sackville" on the rib and in old English script, "Made by P. Arrizabalaga Eibar" on the right and "For J. Rigby & Co. London" on the left. The coin finish H&H type sidelock action is covered with finely detailed foliate scroll surrounding "Made for John Rigby & Co" on both sides. The scroll work continues to the bottom and surrounds "P. Arrizabalaga Eibar" in script lettering.
Rarely seen, high contrast, butternut colored European walnut is used for the straight grip English stock and splinter forearm. The stock features point pattern checkering with mullered borders, dropper points, a push button Anson forend release and an inset gold oval on the toe line engraved with a bird with flower in his beak. A rubbed oil finish covers this fine workmanship. This gun is in overall near mint condition.
