1st Model
44-40
WINCHESTER
1873
SERIAL #
707
Description:
Presented here is, perhaps, the finest 1st Model Winchester 1873 currently available, and it is as close to mint as you can get. Serial #707 is in the only caliber offered at that time, .44-40, per the Cody letter which is included. It has a raised thumbprint dust cover, and the stock and forearm are deep walnut. The round barrel blue is original and immaculate, and it has sharp lettering, numerals and design on metal and wood. The bore is likewise mint, and it also is equipped with a set trigger, and was shipped 4 months into 1874 per a Cody letter which is included. This is an incredibly rare rifle in that it has a round barrel; while not desirable on a gun this early, to see that instead of an octagon is quite unique. Also included is a recent certified appraisal placing the value of this piece substantially higher than the current price. Feel free to contact the seller with any questions, or for additional information.
NRA ANTIQUE FIREARMS CONDITIONS STANDARDS:
EXCELLENT: All original parts; over 80% original finish; sharp lettering, numerals and design on metal and wood, unmarred wood; fine bore
