Description:
AYA AGUIRRE Y ARANZABAL NO. 53 12GA. SIDELOCK HAMMERLESS 28" SHOTGUN, CIRCA 1957-58. Serial number "84,XXX". 28" chopper lump barrels choked IM (.290)and Full (.380). Raised solid rib with matte stipled finish. Coin finished receiver with crisp factory floral engraving with overall coverage including sideclips. Up to 3" chambers. Single selectable trigger. Cocking indicators. Gold inlaid AYA Lion logo on top lever. Gold inlaid owners initials expertly engraved and inlet forward of toe. Horn pistol grip cap with winged dragons of some type. All screws unturned and top lever very right of center and internally hard to tell if ever used. Factory wood with crisp checkering and NO signs of use save very light coat of varnish AYA used at the time that came right off first few times handled and shallow gouge on left side of buttstock that will lift 3" long. 14 3/4" LOP over original rubber buttpad now petrified. Drop at nose of comb 1 5/8" and toward buttpad 2 1/2". Only scratches on wood are from longtime storage. Leather takedown case with some dryrot with the one owners name on handle. Straight from estate of the career US Air Force officer who initially ordered this gun in Europe while stationed there for many years. Have name and rank for further research. Fine like new shotgun with nice long length of pull and NOT a lot of drop in a normal nuetral cast ready to be shot right now and single trigger for those not used to dbl triggers yet. Needs breaking in as never done so.
