Sharps “A” Frame 1874 .48 Caliber Smoothbore Rifle. Scarce “A” frame gun. These guns were made in the 1880’s and the entire production was sold to Carlos Gove, who was an outfitter in Denver, Colorado. The “A” frame guns were assembled out of left over or salvage parts. On the left hand side of the receiver is a letter “A” which is for assembled. This gun letters as .44 caliber, but has been bored out to approximately a .48 caliber smooth bore. The barrel is nice and sharp with very good original blue remains. Wood is good as well. Gun has double set triggers. With factory letter. Scarce 1874 variation.
