Description:
I am 81 years old, and have collected fine guns for over 50 years, I have owned many very rare firearms.

My most favorite guns, in my entire collection. were my High Grade Ithaca shotguns.

Among the many high grade Ithaca shotguns I have owned, was a Knick Grade 6 SBT (only 3 made);  the custom built Model 37, that Keith Houtling built for himself (only 1 made); and a Sousa Grade double (only a few made).

All my guns are gone now, with the exception of two shotguns,

I tell you this, as I want you to know that I am no rookie, and I know Ithaca High Grade shotguns.

This listing is for one of the rarest Ithaca shotguns, the Company ever built.

It is for a 1952 Model 37R  Dollar Grade 20 Gauge pump shotgun, with a 28 inch solid-rib barrel and modified choke.

It  is one of only three Dollar Grade shotguns, ever built. by Ithaca, in 20 Gauge.

It is highly engraved, by Bill McGraw (notice dangling duck feet), Ithaca's very best engraver, and Ithaca's only engraver, for dollar Grade guns, in 1952.

This gun is highly engraved on both sides of the receiver; both sides of the barrel; both sides of the magazine tube; the slide and the trigger guard. The bottom of the trigger guard is highly engraved, and the three initials are in old English lettering, and my old eyes can not discern the letters.

All engraving is elaborate and very sharp. There are no signs of polishing, or fading, so I am sure this gun has never been re-blued, and that all engraving is original to the gun in 1952, by Bill McGraw.

The heavy checkering pattern, matches the style of the heavy scroll engraving. I believe that the stock and forearm, were done by Keith Houtling, as it is in a similar heavy checkering pattern, to the wood on the Model 37 that he built for himself, that I previously owned.

This gun is gorgeous. It is one of the rarest Ithaca guns ever built, as explained above. It is in superb 99% condition, and I believe it has never been re-blued or refinished.

There are no imperfections, scratches, cracks or chips. It is in 99% original condition with only slight loss of finish at the high points on the receiver, which would be expected on a 67 year old 1952 Model 37 pump shotgun.

Even the Ithaca pad shows only slight use.

I believe this gun was special ordered for a woman, and only seldom used over it's lifetime.

The multiple inlays are in white gold,. White Gold was very popular with women in the early 1950's.

This theory, also explains the choice of a 20 gauge and installed Ithaca pad, all of which, contribute to lighter recoil.

Men tended to order 12 gauge guns, with butt plates and yellow gold inlays, and were generally not cso concerned with recoil.

This gun is really one-of-a-kind, as it is the only one, of the three dollar grade 20 gauge shotguns,  done in white gold.

The other two 20 gauge dollar grade shotguns, built by Ithaca, were done in yellow gold.

While I do not know for sure, that this gune was originally orfered for a woman, the features of the gun, fit my theory, right down to the Ithaca rubber pad.

This gun is one of the rarest American-made firearms in the world. It is in outstanding condition. It can be yours.

The only other firearm I have left, will also be listed, for sale.

It is also an Ithaca Model 37.

If you can not afford this fantastic high grade 20 Gauge, maybe you will like the NIB Ithaca Model 37 28 gauge, I will be Listing.

This is a beautiful gun, in 100% condition. You will be well pleasedwith your purchase.

Shipping, to your receiving FFL will be $75.

I follow all FFL rules on the sale of guns. This gun will have to be shipped to a current FFL dealer, for the buyer to go, to receive it.
