Browning Citori, Grade 1 Hunting O/U 12 Gauge Shotgun, with Extractors
Description: Browning Citori Grade 1 Hunting, over-and-under, 12-gauge shotgun, with ejectors. Year of manufacture was 1979. The barrels are 28-inches with 2 ¾-inch/3-inch chambers. The upper barrel is full choke, while lower is modified choke. Top barrel has ventilated rib with muzzle bead. The tail of the ventilated rib is dented, but there is no effect on the gun (see photos). The top barrel is labeled on the left side with “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q. (first line) and MADE IN JAPAN (second line). The top barrel is labeled on the right side with “SPECIAL STEEL 12GA–2 ¾ AND 3” 28” ”. Bores are in excellent condition. The finish on metal and wood is all original. Barrels are 98+ percent, with a few minor marks and tiny dings, mostly beneath the forearm. There are two long rub marks where the top of the forearm contacts the bottom barrel on both sides, but again the marks are beneath the forearm (see photos). The lockbox is 98+ percent and is engraved with a decorative pattern on both sides, extending slightly to the bottom. “BROWNING CITORI” is engraved on the bottom of the lockbox. There is a ¼ inch rough mark on the left side of the box just forward of the top lever; it appears that it was bumped on something rough, like concreat. The trigger guard is in similar condition. The forearm is excellent condition. There are a few very small dents in the wood on the right and left side of the forearm, none on the bottom or on the checkering; the finish is not penetrated and still shines. The checkering on the grip and forearm is deep and fine, with no damage. The stock is in very good condition, but does have small dents, a couple light scratches, and a couple of rubs. Almost none penetrate the finish, with the exception of one small chip on the top of the stock about ½ inch from the recoil pad, one small chip on the left side of the stock near the recoil pad, another smaller chip forward of that and lower on the stock, and what appears to be a cut (less than a quarter of an inch on the bottom of the stock about an inch and a half behind the pistol grip. There are also three striations on top of the stock beginning at the recoil pad; two run about an inch and one runs about four inches. It appears that they originated on the recoil pad and continue onto the stock, indicating that the striations are light scratches to but do not penetrate the finish. I cannot feel them. The brown rubber recoil pad is original equipment; it is supple, without cracks, and is labeled “BROWNING”. Serial numbers all match – tang, barrel, and forearm. LOP is 14 ¼ inches. The drop at the comb is 1 ½”, and the drop at the heel is 2 ½ inches. The photos are high resolution, so zoom to see details. Contact me for additional photos or even higher resolution versions the posted pictures. The buyer pays USPS Priority mail ($40) and insurance, if insurance is desired. I will accept a personal check which I will hold until it clears. I will also accept a USPS money order which I do not have to hold, as it clears immediately. Must ship to FFL.
