Description:
This is an excellent example of a very rare 1928/29 Dutch Contract Luger that was manufactured by DWM. The serial number is 8182 with all visible serial numbers except the magazine matching. It has a blank chamber area with the "DWM" markings on the middle toggle and has the correct "GELADEN" marking on the extractor that was left blued and not polished, and it has the correct "RUST" marking above the safety lever with an upward pointing arrow. The left side of the receiver bears the complete serial number along with the British Nitro proof mark. The underside of the barrel and the frame bear the full serial number. The front toggle link bears the British Proof mark, the middle toggle link bears the British proof mark, the DWM marking and the last two digits of the serial number, and the rear toggle link bears the last two digits of the serial number along with the British proof mark. The underside of the take down lever and the side plate bear the last two digits of the serial number. The right side of the frame bears the Dutch Luger mark Circle KL which is believed to be rare and the marking of either the Dutch Royal Army or the Dutch Royal Air Force.  Either way this is a seldom seen proof mark, The brass plate on the left side of the frame is impressively marked as follows: 6-INF. B 10. Which places it in the 6th Infantry rack number B10. The wood base magazine appears to be correctly proof marked for the Dutch Luger but does not match the gun.  The condition is Very fine with near perfect blued finish remaining on the pistol with minor edge and high spot holster wear with 98% of the straw colors on the various small parts. The grip straps show very little handling or thinning of the blue. The grips panels are in excellent condition with almost no handling wear and sharp distinct checkering on both sides. The bore and chamber are excellent. This is a rare one awaiting ownership by the advanced collector and is firmly priced well under the market value. Gun ships from me to your FFL or C&R dealer of choice. For payment I will accept personal checks, money orders, certified check or, cashiers’ check, all major credit cards.  Credit cards are acceptable with a 3% up-charge for processing.
