Description:
A solid Remington Japanese Rolling Block full rifle with a 35" clean rifled barrel with a few patches of corrosion from black powder shells. The bore measures .43 cal and has it's cleaning rod, and correct military sights with the rear sight lacking the riser. Unusual MUM as well as on the flat side of the barrel, and the bands bands appear to be a crown and the left breech of the barrel has a flower MUM as well as the flat of the left side of the frame.Left side of breech/bareel is another proof. This gunhas seen action and has the older stright extractor pre-1900 era. When Remington had an overrun of about 3,000 rifles for the Egyptian contract they were sold to Asia, Japan, China, and Korea as I understand. American walnut stock is dark and may have added finish a few dents from field use.When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
