The 32" round rifled bore barrel has surface corrosion but not pitted-out. The exterior metal has heavy brown metal/aged patina. The lock works well and the nipple is complete. The American walnut stock has had a difficult life with the front end shaved down into a carbine and done with an axe, tomahawk, or knife. At the butplate the top spine of the stock has a a long sliver of wood missing up to the iron buttplate that is marked: US .Stock has an ovel cartouche' and initials of TD. The wear and damage of this rifle is commonWhen buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
