SOLD Another intriguing and mystery musket is thisChsrlesville Rev War musket with a good working flinlock that showers a waterfall of sparks into the pan. and SOLD....the stock has age and it appears to be American walnut, The metal parts are correct for a Charlesville 1777 musket but are newer made. The kicker is that beowned American military flintlock barrel if about 44" with a stud/block front sight for a bayonet. and the bore is clean with mild surface corrosion and would clean up better with a stainless steel brush. The breech of the barrel has an eagle and P proof for a U.S., made musket barrel . I've found that the U.S. Springfield and other contractors had smooth bore 44" long barrels , and the muzzle measures about .710", which means that this musket is about U.S. military .69 cal. Comes with the trumphet iron ram-rod. I seem to stumble into the most unusual New England attic estate finds! When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
