A CVA HAWKEN rifle with a 28" heavy octagonal 7/8" barrel for the .50 cap and ball. and a super clean, shiny rifled bore, with strong rifling. Lock works good, and lock plate has color case hardening. Hardwood stock is very good showing the original finish and a few small. minor field handling dings with an inlaid brass patch box. This is an early gun as it has a serial number and, and tight workmanship. The front sight and Rear adjustable sight, are much like the Thompson Center, and has good working set triggers.On these earlky CVA models the set grigger is pressed first , cock the hammer and front trigger releases.Blueing on the barrel is about 97%, . Comes with a hardwood ramrod, with a brass tip. Brass furniture through-out, as well as a crescent butt-plate. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
