The Remington 700 Varmint Target Rifle (VTR) is equally at home at the range or afield, a rifle capable of sub-MOA performance with Federal Premium MatchKing in 175-gr, Hornady Precision Hunter (ELD/ELD-X) in 168-gr, and similar high-end target & hunting ammunition.
Remington's unique rounded-triangle barrel with integrated topside muzzle break that virtually eliminates barrel rise, making it easier to call the shot in the field. At the recoil, this rifle comes straight back, allowing the shooter to keep 'eyes-on' the objective.

Although the VTR is billed as a varmint & target rifle, it's suitable afield for North Americam big game hunitng and I've used one in Africa for everything from warthogs and jackyls to gemsbok and kudu...at ranges of 140-260 yards...six shots, six trophies!
