Description:
Here is a real nice Sappers Miners musketoon made by Springfield with only 800 made. About 300 were later modified to artillery musketoons so only about 500 were left in original configuration.
This one takes a real wide sabre bayonet by Ames. Lockplate is dated 1854 and barrel 1855. The is a real fine musketoon with sharp edges and a small crack behind the lockplate. Has the original
locking devise and bayonet on front of barrel. The metal was cleaned some time ago and there is light pitting around the bolster and a few minor spots here and there. Still has great markings everywhere. Rack numbers on buttplate and top of barrel with the special band in front. There is some fill behind the lower band in the back. Still a great gun that
won't be easy to upgrade. .69 caliber and all original. Free UPS ground shipping.
