Description:
A fine and spectacular Montana folk art painting Circa 1969 by Harry G. Bentz of Philipsburg, Montana. The painting is oil on board and measures 24 inches wide by 20 inches tall. Fantastic depiction of a horse that was spooked by a grouse and has thrown the rider. The horse has some great ranch brands on him. This actually happened as Harry painted experiences from his own life and his friends as a Cowboy in Montana. Vivid colors and an excellent painting in the Montana folk art style. Harry was a great fan of famous Western artists Frederic Remington and Charles Russell and painted in a similiar style. Signed and dated by Harry. This oil painting remains in excellent untouched condition and was never framed. American Western folk art doesn't get any better than this!!!
