An extraordinary high quality french fitted travel case that contains a gem type photograph of a Southern School Cadet. Acquired in the Valley of Northern Va near New Market. I think from research it could have been a New Market or VMI Cadet but i do not have any provenance. The case is exquisitely made with a gold washed frame, hinge and clasp, stunning beveled glass which underneath sits a fine photo of a young boy cadet wiearing a kepi and in unform. Violet silk lines the interior, top and bottom. Case measures closed 1 7/8 by 1 3/8 inches. Condition and workmanship is excellent in every respect. When opened the case becomes its own pedastal stand. High quality clasp closes it all up. A beautiful and rare Civil War Photo for the advanced collector. USPS Priority mail is 8.00
