A fine antique Brant sinkbox decoy, cast iron weighing about 40 lbs. This decoy was probably made at the Elizabeth City North Carolina foundry. The inlets, sounds and bays around North Carolina...Ablemarle, Pamlico and north into the Upper Chesapeake were the richest waterfowl grounds on Earth in the late 1800's and early 1900's when market hunting was at its peak. A great original sinkbox decoy from "Gunning Days Past". I would prefer local pick up. USPS Money orders or personal check is fine. Measures about 17 inches long, 9 inches tall and just over 6 1/4 inches wide at the base.
