A fine original bronze Garden Sundial made by Jacob Ebberly of Winchester England circa 1780-1790. Octagon bronze construction and superbly engraved and signed. Meaures just over 8 inches wide with the original gnomon measuring 3 7/8 inches high. Original lead soldering on the underside and a fine original heavy patina that has never been polished or altered in any way. Perfectly flat with stunning engraving of the full clock down to the minute. Beautiful sun engraving in the center under the gnomon. Acquired here in the Valley of Northern Virginia.
