Description: This is a “beyond rare” example of a 9mm DWM Model 1920 Commercial long barrel Luger (16”) built for "Pacific Arms Corporation" of San Francisco. The Pacific Arms Corporation attempted to compete from the West Coast with the likes of Abercrombie & Fitch, and A.F. Stoeger who were located on the East Coast. They did not achieve the same recognition or sales volume as the other companies, thus resulting in their Luger examples extremely rare today. Pacific Arms went under after only 3-4 years of business. The Luger is a standard 1920 commercial model as made by the DWM factory. Custom barrel lengths began with anything over 8". The cost for the extended barrel (over 8") was $1.00 per inch up to 24". It has a blank chamber area with the DWM logo on the front toggle. Both grip panels have a brass (quarter size) coin inset into the grips that reads (around the edges): "PACIFIC ARMS CORPORATION/SAN FRANCISCO CALIF U.S.A." with the center of the disc also marked with the intertwined logo of "PAC". These 1920 Lugers still retain their German "GESICHERT and GELADEN" markings in the safety area and on the extractor. The pistol has multiple early "Crown/N" commercial proof marks. It is commercially numbered with the full number on the front of the frame only, with the last two digits on the trigger, take down lever, the side plate and rear toggle, with the other parts unnumbered. It has the standard front sight with adjustable artillery rear sight marked 1-8 (100-800) meters. It comes with one, wooden base magazine. Stone cold mint throughout. Extremely nice straw colors and fire bluing on the link pins. A unique looking and extremely rare 1920 Pacific Arms Corporation long barreled Luger pistol. This is without a doubt a centerpiece for the advanced luger collector. You may research another example of this in 8" barrel as listed on Simpson LTD. They are extremely rare and would make a fantastic addition to the luger collection.
