Description:
RARE BATTY AMERICAN DUELLING PISTOL DOUBLE COMPARTMENT POWDER FLASK CIRCA 1820’S. RILING #163. 4 ½” o/a. Very rare with “BATTY” stamped on top of one of the compartment covers for the Batty Company of Springfield, Mass. Which along the John Matthewman was the earliest of the American makers of powder flasks. Very rare type used with dueling pistols made in America of the late flint and early percussion era. Excellent overall with exception of missing lever spring which is an easy replacement. Only one marked “BATTY” we know of.
