Description:
I submitted this pistol to Gale Morgan, renoun museum quality restoration expert, who verified pistol is unfired in original condition. Please refer to inspection letter attached. This HP is beyond extremely rare. Unfired imposible to find. If you don’t know the HP series, it is the commercial precursor to the P38. This is a 100% military matt finish (a rare pistol in rare condition) with military acceptance marks of eagle/356 on all of the small parts and eagle over 359 on the two proper “P38v” marked mags- both numbers are Walther codes. (also rare) Gordon confirmed the important features as proof of original finish- all parts originally white remain white- look at the photo of the plunger under the extractor- still white. All springs look new. The grips have sequential numbers. The eagle/n on right side of slide suggests post 1940 production. Rt side of slide has Waffenamt eagle over 356. The serial number puts it in a group of approx. 17,000 commercial HPs between June 41 and Feb. 45. I acquired this pistol along with several other military P38s I purchased in late 90s. It has been in my safe since- not fired. I cannot find any prior sale of an HP in this condition to use as a comparable. It comes with a 1944 mil. holster and two Walther codes mags. I was shocked when I examined all parts. It looks like it stayed in someone’s drawer. Please look at photos and particularly the firing pin photo- no powder residue anywhere. Immediately I noticed that all of the white was still white and all of the springs were still new looking and the firing pin does not look like it has had contact with brass. Looking closer you will note that there are no abrasion marks- all of the original blue areas where rubbing would take place when fired show no wear. The mags show no abrasion from continuous removal. The hammer does not show it has ever had contact with the firing pin. The firing pin does not show any abrasion from movement. So, look close and tell me if you see anything I missed. Today, this is one of a kind. PAYMENT OPTIONS: I accept USPS Money Orders and personal/business checks.
