Description:
A fine antique French or possibly German steel mounted court sword circa 1780. The handle is steel sculpted with 12 side flats that remain in original high polish with no corrosion. A stunning trefoil blade measuring appox. 34 inches with its original needle sharp point and very sharp trefoil edges. Blade also remains in excellent original polish with no apologies. The scabbard is lizard or snake skin covered over wood and is original to the sword. Scabbard has its original steel throat and drag, matching the sword. The original steel suspension rings remain and they are forge welded rings as they should be. There is some normal wear to the skin and you can see the wood base in several spots. A very deadly weapon in the hands of a trained swordsman of the period.  A beautiful period court sword with its original scabbard. USPS Priority mail is 30.00
