Description:
SOLD....Original DGFM FMAP "EJERCITO ARGENTINO" Army TYPE II in CORRECT MILITARY CONFIGURATION with ALL MATCHING NUMBERS INCLUDING MAGAZINE, manufactured in 1948 and well documented and described in Charles Clawson's and Alex Gherovici's books. It appears to be unissued might be unfired or like new condition. This is a 1911 A1 ARMY Model TYPE II Sistema 1927, .45 ACP 5" barrel, showing on the left side of the slide "D.G.F.M.-( FMAP)" which stands for Direccion General de Fabricaciones Militares (Fabrica Militar de Armas Portatiles) and on the right side of the slide upper line ARGENTINE Coat of Arms “EJERCITO ARGENTINO" and "sis, colt. cal 11.225mm mod 1927” on the lower line with Italic slant characters. Both lines the same length. Type I Crest. It was made on Colt machinery under Colt license and supervision under contract in Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina.
Condition: From my personal collection. 1911 A1 made from SAE 1045; it features grip and thumb safeties, checkered arched mainspring housing with lanyard loop, checkered trigger and rear slide serrations. ALL MATCHING NUMBERS on FRAME, SLIDE, BARREL AND MAGAZINE!!!! Original Barrel numbered perpendicular to the slide. This example is in excellent condition. NO RUST, NO PITTING observed; very clean. Crisp and well define markings shown in pictures. Beautiful detailed Argentine Crest. The style of the marking on the slide make this pistol a TYPE II. It appears to have the Original dark rich black oxide blue finish with minimal fading-edge wear, imperfections, light handling marks-scratches on the finish. Original sights in place. NO import mark observed. BORE is BEAUTIFUL; MIRROR bright and shiny, LIKE NEW with very strong rifling. In my opinion this pistol could be unissued or fired very very little and was handled and carry a bit more than been shot. Tight action; mechanically fine. Original MATCHING 7 Rd Magazine with minimal loss of finish on edges and upper part; it fits well, drops freely and it looks in good working order. Grips appear to be Original with the same age of the pistol ( they could be original but later replacement); they are period correct. Book pictures for reference only.
An EXCELLENT LOOKING EXAMPLE of Argentine Colt Sistema 1927 in Correct Military Configuration, ARMY TYPE II with ALL MATCHING NUMBERS including MAGAZINE!!, and very nice detail Crest and Markings. This pistol will make a VERY fine addition to your collection.!!!!!
