Description:
This rifle is a veteran of WWII but survived with only minor nicks and dings to the stock and wear on the blueing.  The metal has the very light blueing that was used for that period production but has absolutely no rust.  The metal parts color matches well.  The high wood stock and handguard match very well with clearly visible large 7/8" Inland ordnance wheel on the right butt stock, the Circled P stamp on the pistol grip, and the Inland Overton IO stamping on the high wood stock and hand guard.  There are no cracks or repairs at all in the wood; even on the tang and in front of the escutcheon.  All of the dark spots on the stock are evidence that this rifle likely engage in field action but are not deep dents.  Enough about the cosmetics!

It is hard to show pictures of all of the parts of these rifles for proof of authenticity.  If you are seriously interested in purchasing this rifle I will email you as many pictures as you deem necessary as well as the three data sheets that individually explains all of the parts, the part production type ( minor changes), and manufacturer I.D. stamp.  The parts that are not stamped have been authenticated by photos, measurements, and written descriptions in the book "Comprehensive Guide - M1 Carbine" published by Roger Larson.  This book is 829 pages of M1 Carbine WWII history packed with over 4000 quality photos, type examples, serial number production blocks, and sections for each part that fully describes the differences in the parts throughout the production blocks.   If you like M1 Carbines you must have this book.

I have totally disassembled this Inland M1 Carbine serial # 685934 and inspected each part for integrity, specification, correctness of the part production type, block, and I.D. stamping as it pertains to this serial number rifle.  A few ways to check the wear on rifle other than the bore and chamber are as follows:  Slide stop detent on receiver rail; the operating slide rail guides; the wear on the gas piston; muzzle condition; the fit of the butt plate to the stock; and how solidly the rifle manually cycles rounds.  I am sure there are a few more items others my use.

Last but not least is the use of reproduction parts for the M1 Carbine.  With the cost of the genuine parts escallating rapidly due to the rarity it is easy to find much less expensive parts instead of stepping up and buying the real deal.  I use only the genuine parts in the rifles I sell.  If I have doubt if a part is correct for a particular rifle I have several reference guides and publications to cross check.  I first and foremost use the "Comprehensive Guide - M1 Carbine" as my source.  I feel this book provides me a very thorough explanation, pictures, and text to back up my work.  If really in doubt I can email Roger Larson and he will explain the reason of difference.  I take well over 100 pictures of my Carbines for my assurance as well as yours.

EXTRAS INCLUDED :  Two Original USGI 15 Round Magazines stamped AI.  Quality Reproduction Zippered Canvas Carry Case, Two magazine Olive Drab Butt Stock Pouch, and matching Olive Drab Sling.  Reproduction Field Manual.   Pictured ammunition NOT INCLUDED.
