Top of the barrel is marked "MANUFACTURED BY THE / WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN. CONN. U S.A" and near the receiver "CAL 45-70". The case color finish frame's lower tang has the rifle's serial number "54395".
