Description:
From a mid-west sale, a very nice full stock Antique eastern style 32 caliber Percussion Rifle. The beautiful wood of the Tiger Striped maple is aged to a uniform color with no cracks however, there are dents and dings and a small amount of wood wood loss at the fine edge of the forend and a couple of very neat old repairs next to the tang and forward of the enterance thimble (see photos). The stock is solid (not loose) and has a brass nose cap, 2 brass thimbles & entry thmble, brass trigger guard and crescent butt plate. The metal finish is a mottled brown patina with some oxidation (see photos). The gun is 50" over all length with a 34 3/4"barrel (What I can see of the bore looks dark....I have not cleaned this gun) the ram rod is missing. There is a fixed rear sight (right wing missing, see photos) and a blade front sight. The double set trigger and lock need adjustment or repair as the lock will not hold full cock. The lock has some stamps but are unreadable (see photos). At the sale they said this rifle has been converted from a flintlock but I can not comfirm that. The brass butt plate and trigger guard are undamaged (see photos). I can not guarantee a gun this old will shoot however it appears, with a little freshening up, this gun could be back in the field or on the target range. At the sale they had no additional history about the gun however, everything appears old and original to my untrained eye but since I can not guarantee the origins of this gun I am offering it with a 100% satisfaction guarantee, if it does not live up to your expectations in any way return it for a full and speedy refund including your return shipping (see my feedback).
