Beautiful Sword Presents with 28" blade length. 7" pommel to crossguard. 35" overall length with scabbard. Single edged drop tip blade with single fuller to forte and double offset fullers to foible, on both sides. Brass hilt has a 5.25" crossguard with double quillons, and simulated ivory grips with double brass star medallions to both sides. Nickel plate dress scabbard has double brass carry rings with floral designs, and a brass drag with rose floral reliefs to both sides. Blade has acid etched markings including "UNITED STATES MARINES" to both sides and "MAJOR R.L.P." to left side. Blade also has etched floral and patriotic designs to both sides, as well as "{ Damascus Star}" marks to both ricassos. Blade is marked "MADE/ U.S.A. " under crossguard, and there is a"3"marked to the spine of blade just above hilt. Scabbard has brass throat.The "Mameluke" USMC officer's sword. Originating from the sword given to Lt. Presley O'Bannon in 1805 by the Mamluks for service in North Africa, USMC officers have traditionally worn these dress swords since 1825.

Condition:
Very Good. Blade has a few light pin point pit marks to edge of absolutely gorgeous etched designs. There are some light handling marks to nickel finish on scabbard. Hilt  grip is as tight as your crazy Uncle on New Years Eve . Pommel has some light wear. There is a wonderful brass finish on crossguard.
