Description:
A 18 1/2" long with a very stout Barvarian flintlock Horse pistol th at measures about 18 1/2" lonfg, with a 11 1/4" long barrel and a muzzle bore measured at .730 so most ;likely a 69cal. smooth bore. Possibly made mid 18th century and the action works well, with the flint showers generous sparks on the frizzen.The walnut wood looks solid and I'm sure with a gun this age as usual there have been repaits and restoration as these were used hard. Furniture is iron metal. At the base of the stock near the iron butt-cap there is slivers of wood loss from using the butt-cap as a skull crusher.Don;t see any name on the lock or barrel , yet the barrel has some kind of proof at the breech left side. The front side plate lock screw looks replaced at one time. Definitely an early Flint Lock European horse pistol. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
