Description:
An original committee of Safety New England Militia made musket from spare parts as found in a western New England hill country town. The wood stock is 100% American cherry wood and the lock stamped only Tower; as being caught with a musket marked Tower/GR would mean immediate exacusion by the British. The metal now age stained but not rusted are of the Charlesville type, and comes with a tulip shaped ramrod which may be a replacement. Lock works well, and there is evidence that this fine gun was quite used with much pitting near the fire hole and pan. No proofs on the barrel and mosr;ily American made. Rare to find an assembled committee of safety musket, as there are many variations found from the parts that were incorporated when being assembled. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting. To buy a gun from me you must get a direct email for me, with details, and shipping cost.
