#970, Franz Sodia 20 x 20 x 22 Winchester Centerfire (5.6 x 35R) - A Ferlach Drilling Made in 1941, 25 1/2" Bohler Special Steel Barrels with a Rib Extension and Hidden Crossbolt, Fold-Up rear sight actuated when the rifle barrel is cocked with the side lever, Fold-Up night sight, Original factory claw mounts, See through 1" scope rings, Leupold 1.5 x 5, .627 .033 & .034" (Full & Full), Original 2 3/4" chambers and so marked, Bolstered frame, Side clip action body, All 3 barrels with bushed strikers, Cocking indicators, The front trigger is a set trigger, 5 locking screws on key screws on the frame, Steel trigger guard, Deeley & Edge pull down forend release, Excellent wood with excellent black/brown contrast, Shadowline cheekpiece, Sling swivels, It is 14 1/2 x 1 1/2 x 2 1/4" over a 1" leather pad, It points great for both the shot barrels and the fold-up open sight, 6 lbs. 5 oz. without the scope and 7 lbs. 2 oz. with it mounted, 99% of very accurate rose and scroll engraving coverage that is well done, The original barrel blue is at 98%, The original frame finish at 98%, The wood remains at 96% with very light handling marks, The original checkering both fore & aft is at 98%, The shotgun bores and the rifle bore remain as new, The trigger guard has what appears the initials "MS" with a 9 point crown all done in a silver inlay, The gun comes with about 20 cases and Buffalo Arms will load this cartridge, This 1941 Ferlach made Drilling still has all its mechanical life left, it is tight, on the face and is as solid as new. This is a high quality Franz Sodia gun that represents all the fine features of a Classic Austrian made piece from that era.

Franz Sodia was established in 1874 and moved to Ferlach in 1910. Franz Sodia passed away in 1935 and his son, also Franz Sodia, carried the business forward through some tough economic times and WWII. In 1974 about 70 to 75% of all guns made by this firm were exported. In 1981, the Austrian Minister of Trade awarded the company the national honor to carry the Austrian national coat of arms in business dealings.
