#17111 & 17112, 12 Bore Pair - John Rigby & Co. 72 St. James's Street, London: A True Pair of 12 Bore Rigby Boxlock Ejector Game Guns Cased in the Original Oak & Leather Trunk, Made in 1904, Both guns with 28" Ejector Nitro Proved Steel Barrels, Each with a rib extension dolls head plus a third bite, Both Guns Built on the Great Webley Action Body; The # 1 gun at .737 .014 & .021" (Imp.Cyl & Mod.), 2 1/2" chambers, Wall thickness on the right at .028" and the left barrel at .032"; The # 2 gun at .735 .007 & .023" (Imp.Cyl & Mod.), 2 1/2" chambers, Wall thickness on the right at .031" and the left barrel at .029", Double triggers, Splinter forend with an Anson frontal release, Straight hand stock and both dead on at 15 1/16 x 1 1/2 x 2 3/16" over a full face checkered butt, Both with nice Cast-Off for the right hand, Great 12 Bore weight at only 6 lbs. 5 oz., Nice wood on both, 40% coverage of period scroll engraving, Numbered 1 & 2, This pair was bought in London and was refreshed there prior to purchase and then later went to Rigby for a complete check-up, Both sets of barrels reblacked and now at 97%, The stocks have been re-oiled but not sanded and both remain at 96%, The original checkering is at 95%, The barrels inside & out remain in excellent condition without a ding or pit to be had, The bores have been polished in England and totally remain in proof, The striking on the barrels is excellent as would be expected from an English refinish, The barrels remain tight on the face. It is cased in the original maker's oak leather trunk with the proper trade labels plus a full complement of accessories.
