Description:
With a caliber of about 42 cal.,and a  32 1/2” octagon barrel turned for starter (none present) with an oxidized bore. All of the iron surfaces are a soft lightly oxidized plum brown patina showing some scattered oxidation and areas of light pitting. Simple heavy open sights are present and the barrel is lightly engraved “WT” only barely discernible; there are a number of tool marks at the breech area. There is a pewter nosecap and all of the remaining hardware is brass with a rather heavy dual faceted triggerguard.. The toeplate has a push button release for the patchbox but it does not free up, the door being stuck fast. The curly maple stock rates about very good as refinished many years ago with sanding marks, handling marks, a couple drying cracks and and field handling light dings. Very fancy inlaid bass patchbox.  There is a German silver eagle inlay on the square bottom cheekpiece and the single acting lock does function mechanically. A replacement ramrod is included and there are repaired chips at left and right of the tang. This is a heavy barrel plains rifle. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith  before  shooting. To buy a gun from me you must get a direct email for me, with details, and shipping cost.   We don’t have a web  site .I prefer money orders or a check.  Item ships when funds come in. I try to keep guns  affordable, which means I make less money than most dealers. You won’t get altitude sickness, or nose bleed, with my prices! I consistently have the best selection of  older guns If you attempt to buy,  you must still contact us for details . Best to email to buy. Sometimes a local person can stop buy and purchase before the gun is removed.  Sometimes not home to get calls. Some guns are required shipment to a gun dealer near you for a transfer to you when it arrives. Otherwise many older or black powder guns ship to your door. With the widest selection of older guns at great prices, We don’t have a store, and sell on the internet only.  I’m easy to get along with. Thank You[JB1]
