Description:
A gentleman called and wondered about this blank being used for a shotgun blank.  Of course that would work.  There are some who think that it would be "Criminal" to cut a full-length blank to use for a two-piece blank.  I personally don't.  IF YOU SPEND THE MONEY FOR NICE WOOD THAT YOU LOVE, YOU CAN USE IT HOWEVER YOU WISH.  THE WOOD IS ABOUT 85% WHAT YOU SEE IN A GUN!!!!  If you love a good looking piece of wood, there is nothing wrong with using it in a special gun that you have or want to build!!!

I have several people watching this.  What I would suggest is if you are interested in the blank, have your stockmaker take a look at it and see what they think.  I had another feathercrotch (two piece) blank that sat for almost 2 years.  One day I got a call from a gentleman that was interested in it.  He wasn't sure about the size.  He texted his stockmaker and aksed if it would be OK for the gun build he desired.  He simply got a message back from the stockmaker a couole of hours later and said it would be fine for his Parker Shotgun.  It sold immediately.  My Point: A good stockmaker will know exactly what he can or can't do with a particular blank.

I purchased this particular blank from Murat Ergin at Hunterbid several years ago.  I would venture to say that it has been drying for close to 29 years now.   Please note that the dimensions of the blank are listed below.  Many of the "so-called" stockmakers are not equal in ability to settng up a blank for cutting the wood.  A good stockmaker is able to make the most out of the wood that he has to work with.  That being said, the width of the blank at the butt end is about 2."  Cheekpieces vary greatly in thickness and width in a finished gun.  I am pointing this out because of the width of the blank.  If your stockmaker knows what he is doing, you could have a small checkpiece on the blank without any problem.  However, if you want a great big wide cheekpiece, then this blank is probably not going to work for you.  The final dimensions of the stcok that you desire will need to be taken into consideration.  Hope this helps.

$785.00 plus shipping.  My friend came over, and we got more pictures taken of the full view of the blank on each side and the top and bottom.  Guns International only allows so many pictures.  If you would like to see these additional photos, simply let me know.

From the end of the butt, out to about 10," the blank is about 2 1/16" wide.  From about 10" to 17 1/2," the blank is about 2" wide.  From about 17 1/2" out to 24," the blank is just slightly under 2," about 1 15/16."  At about 24," the blank reverts back to 2" wide.

Update just after listing,   An individidual emailed and wanted to know if I could tell what each picture was--so, I am listing the side and stock position for each pictutre.  Hope this helps . . . .

Please note: Right before pictures were taken, Rubbing Alcohol was wiped over the wood to show color, graining, pattern, and mineral lines in the wood.  There might be some little flecks of paper towel that adhered briefly, but they are not present at all in the wood.

For sale is an exquisite Turkish Walunt Rifle Blank that was purchased years ago but never used.  I bought this from Hunterbid several years ago.  The retail price for the blank was, at that time, $4000.00.

At the time of purchase, the blank had been dried for over 10 years.  I would say that the blank has been sitting and drying for 20 years now.

I was going to use this on a rifle project, but have decided that I have enough "Projects" going on.

The dimensions of the blank are as follows:

Total Length: 35 5/8"
Width at butt: 7 7/16"
Width at forearm end: 4 3/16"
Width of blank:  This varies a little bit.  From the butt end to the front part of the pistol grip outlined, it is 2 1/16."  The action area of the gun is about 2".  Then, going toward the front part of the blank, the width widens up slightly again at about 2 1/16 plus.

Call or email me if you have any questions.

Thank you for looking.
