Mauser, blued receiver with matted top flat, engraved with scrollwork with Celtic strapwork border lines, the bolt with turned down handle engraved en suite with the receiver. Fraser type trigger safety device (picture). 'SAFE' inlaid in gold.

Barrel:
Blued screw off barrel, length 64 cm, engraved "CHARLES LANCASTER. 7. BURY STREET ST JAMES’S. LONDON. S.W.1.", Ramp mounted bead front sight and block mounted rear sight of one fixed and two folding leafs respectively graduated for 100, 200 and 300 yards, each leaf matted. Blued magazine floor plate and trigger guard engraved en suite with the receiver, London nitro proofmarks.

Stock:
Well figured dark reddish brown walnut pistol grip stock with raised cheekpiece and checkered grip, detachable forearm. Dark horn pistol grip cap. Coat of arms of the previous owner on the underside of the stock removed and expertly inlaid with wood (picture). Diopter removed and expertly inlaid with wood (picture). Rear sling eye with the forward sling eye mounted below the barrel, LOP 37.5 cm

Remarks:
Some age related rubbing to finish (barrel), engraving remains crisp, clear and excellent, weight 3.4 kg, total length 120 cm, fine condition, mechanically excellent. Probably made on a Fraser action.
