A rare miniature painting on Ivory of Napolean in Battle. The painting measures 3 1/4 wide by 2 5/8 tall. Original painted wood frame with a flower finial hangar. The back was seeled off with a German dictionary page from the 1700's...it is still sealed and the painting has never been removed. Napolean is looking thru a spyglass and giving a map to one of his officers. This painting was the "Battle of Wagram" against the Austrian Empire...July 5-6 1809...Archduke Charles of Austria-Teschen...France/Napolean defeated Austria which led to the Treaty of Schonbrunn.
