Description:
A very unusual California English walnut rifle blank. This blank was cut from what some "cutters" whould call a "yard tree " . I general these trees were dreaded by mill opererators as to what they might hit when slabbing out the tree. Folks having these trees in their back yards, like to drive spikes into them to hang clothes lines, loop cables around them for hammocks etc. This tree was clean of those dangers but for whatever reason the blank has a pinkish hue in some areas of the blank, mostly in the area of the jet black mineral line that runs thru some of this blank. The wood is quite dense and should work well.
Good layout , air dried since cut in 1999 it is READY TO CARVE!
