Description:
A very fine 19th century pecussion taget rifle with a 30" heavy octagonal barrel with a .45 rifled bore, and a bore relatively clean rifling and agressive corrosion abour 8" down from the muzzle. The front action lock with set triggers works well,, with no makers markings , either on the barrel. No barrel markings are found and the gun comes with a simple hardwood ram-rod. The American gtain walnut is very good and the gun has German silver furniture, with a patch box on the tight side and in inlaid early style eagle on the cheek piece of the left side.The hardwood ram-rod is darkened. Front sight is a dovetailed blade type and rear is a Rocky Mountain type sight. Overall a quality 19th century Plains or target rifle.When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
